It’s been a wild ride for all of us so far, as March 2020 has us all facing the biggest global disruption since World War II. We’ve all been asked to re-evaluate the ways in which we live, and take stock of what truly matters to us. The travel industry has ground to a halt, bringing down with it entire economies and communities. This month, we began to hear the phrase “non-essential” travel, forcing us to confront the very nature of travel and what it means for each of us, and what place it holds in the larger scheme of things.
It’s a strange time to be celebrating GRID’s sixth anniversary, but in the midst of all this, allow us to thank you for being on this journey with us, and revisit some of our best stories over the years. If the travel industry is to survive and become the lifeline that it always has been for communities and entire countries, we believe that we’ll need imagination and hope. Dreams are essential to rebuilding.
We hope that our stories throughout the past six years will continue to carry you into the future.
