Audrey Carpio is a writer from Manila. She was an editor at Esquire Philippines and a graduate of Columbia University’s journalism school. Most recently, she swam with humpback whales in Tonga, a feat considering she used to have a phobia of the water. Her four kids are named after a continent, a fish, a body of water, and an island.
